“So comes snow after fire, and even dragons have their ending!” J. R. R. Tolkien

A short story about the concept of snow and how eternally mesmerizing it continues to be.

As the big blessed flakes fall,

Covering the ground with a blanket of hope,

A crisp, pristine sheet of white,

Replenishing tracks, footprints, rocks and bushes.

From the tallest trees reaching skyward,

To the lowest shrubs hugging the earth

Everything is coated in the finest, brightest sprinkling,

The snow paints everything without prejudice

Come the ethereal light of day

Or the bleak midwinter night

Snow can enrich you with delight and wonder

The desire to explore and discover

From the delicate cover of a flower

To the flakes that hold their shape,

Gently perched upon a leaf

Snow and its flakes inspire us

A walk along a path by the light of snow,

Your tracks filled as you pass

A chance to experience nature like never before

Seeing old landscape with new eyes

Snow brings with it excitement,

Warm cosy feelings that cannot be matched

Snow is life’s way to showing you,

Spring is just around the corner.
